BEACH GRASS PLANTING 08

	On April 26th, a Group of Volunteers gathered on Cottage Walk, Gilgo Beach. The Goal was to Strengthen the Ocean Dunes at Gilgo Beach.
The plan was to Plant Atlantic Beach Grass along the New Dune Lines Created by the Winter Dredging, at the East End of Cottage Walk. There has been a lot of Activity in this Area of the Beach Recently.

STB provided the Beach Grass in bundles of 100 stalks or plant.
Planting is easy; just pook a hole in the sand about 4 inches, place the stalk and repack the sand.

The group planted 3,000 stalks of grass in and along the dunes at the east end of Gilgo Beach.
